God' Faithfulness Towards Covenantal Israel Is To Be Satisfaction In Christ For All Nations.

God almighty! The endless nuances of His magnificent nature are enough to baffle the human mind forever. Deuteronomy 7:1-11; Joshua 24:1-33; Judges 11:1-28; and, Psalm 23 allotted together depict God the Father in His relationship towards His covenantal people; centering what could be said of God around relational dynamics. It is in this stream of relational dynamics that one see’s God as omnipotent, and all-satisfying.

When I think of the omnipotence of God, I also think of the omniscience of God. God does not wield His all-powerful hand without His all-knowing sovereign plan in place. In the case of the Israelites, He gives them a full proof plan (Deuteronomy 7:1-11), developed and powered by His will. No force in the world can thwart the will of God. Interestingly, within His omnipotent plan, He leaves room to see if the Israelites do as He commands; with consequence should they disobey His commands. We see through Deuteronomy 7:1-11; Joshua 24:1-33; and Judges 11:1-28, God omnisciently working His omnipotence strategically as to intervene when most necessary; proving God to be a merciful God, to Whom even the very discipline of His chosen people, and the destruction of other people, is of His goodwill.

As Deuteronomy 7:1-11; Joshua 24:1-33; and Judges 11:1-28 depict much God’s omnipotence, in the name of faithfulness towards His covenantal people, Israel; Psalm 23 gives us the overarching reason behind the “seemingly evil” (Joshua 24:15) God behind the mayhem; namely, for Israel’s good, that they may see God as the “good shepherd”; the One who leads them “in paths of righteousness for His names sake”; the One who leads them to “dwell in the house of the Lord forever,” that they may know His “goodness and mercy shall follow [them] all the days of [their] life.” Thus, God is the God whom acts, and commands for the sake of our satisfaction being made in Him. He is therefore the all-satisfying God who wields His omniscient omnipotence to lead and draw His people to be satisfied in His glory.

In conclusion, Deuteronomy 7:1-11; Joshua 24:1-33; Judges 11:1-28; and, Psalm 23 draw out  a description of God as the faithful sovereign ruler whom is and acts omnipotent towards His covenantal people. His omniscience applied is for the glory due His name, manifested in that His covenantal people find satisfaction in Him and His rule over them, alone. God is therefore, beautiful in is omnipotence and ability to lead the human heart to satisfaction in Him. His faithfulness towards His covenantal people, even at the expense of other peoples (as in the book of Esther) shows God' heart good and righteous-not only for the sake of His faithfulness, but also for the sake of all nations being blessed by the seed of Abraham (i.e. Jesus). In our modern context it is of absolute necessity that the Gentile Christian look upon the Jew through the lens of being a vessel of jealousy (not a vessel of accusation), namely, that the Jew would see something of the promise in us unto glorious revelation of Jesus Christ our Messiah (Romans 11:11-15). There will soon come a day when the Gentile inclusion comes full circle, and Christ will be magnified among the Jew, when He sits on the throne of David and rules the nations magnificently (Luke 1:32; Zechariah 12:10; Romans 11:26). Thus, profiting eternal satisfaction in Christ for the Jew, and the Gentile.
